LGBT: Copenhagen

We’re just going to go ahead and say it: Copenhagen is probably the gayest place in Europe. Freedom is in the air along with style and culture. Unfortunately, you’re going to be paying for all of it.

There are a multitude of gay bars, saunas, hotels and restaurants in the city to choose from, but the city has a reputation for being quite pricey. We think it’s worth it. Oscar, one of the most popular gay bars in the city, has live music every weekend, while Jailhouse CPH is a unique experience with a prison theme. We all know what goes down in prisons, after all.

For places to stay, make sure to check out Nimb and The Square, two upscale hotels in the city both within walking distance to all the LGBT hotspots. For a tasty treat during the day, be sure to check out Lækkerier’s Kokken, an adorable café owned by gay couple Kristian and John, that serves up some amazing cakes.

The city itself is open and accepting of the LGBT community so you don’t have to worry much about holding your partner’s hand in public. Denmark is by far one of the most progressive countries in the world and you should feel right at home. Take precaution when it comes to partying and be sure to have a safe ride home.
