Through Sept. 27, Mad River Boat Trips, located two miles south of Jackson Hole, Wyo., offers signature whitewater rafting adventures and float trips on the Snake River, including two new early- and late-season specialty trips.
The new tours are available May 31–June 26 and Aug. 23–Sept. 7. For ages 6 and older, the Snake River Half-Day (five hours) and Full-Day (eight hours) tours include the classic whitewater trip, with a stop for a Dutch Oven chili lunch at Blind Canyon river access. The full-day trip departs 8:30 a.m. for $99; half-day is $89 and leaves at 10:30 a.m.
Another specialty trip for the 2015 season is the Snake River Whitewater/National Park Sunset Wildlife Tour, which includes a visit to Antelope Flats to spot bison, elk, moose, bald eagles, coyotes, antelope and more. Dinner on the deck of Signal Mountain Lodge offers views of the Teton Mountains. The eight-hour tour departs daily at noon for $219.
The Backcountry Horseback Ride/Small Boats Whitewater Tour includes a ride on a small boat over the white waters of Snake River, after a horseback ride through the Gros Ventre Wilderness. Leaving at 9 a.m., the seven-hour trip costs $147.
Mad River Boat Trips has been offering whitewater and scenic rafting trips in Jackson Hole since 1977.
