If you are serious about winning the battle of the bulge, consider the Smart Body Analyzer from Withings. Described as a ‘one-stop health tracking scale,’ the futuristic weight loss tool, introduced last spring, measures not only your weight, but also your Body Mass Index (BMI), fat composition, heart rate…even daily air quality. The Smart Body Analyzer, priced at $149.95, is designed to be linked with your smart phone or Wi-Fi network, to track and record your individual progress. Built with specialized automatic user recognition technology, the uber-cool scale can calculate and store data and create personalized profiles for up to eight users. If you’re brave enough and want to share your weight and other stats with your friends on social media, you can program the device so that it automatically posts your latest data on Facebook and Twitter.

According to Eugene Kim, editor of PC Mag, “The Withings Smart Body Analyzer puts a wealth of useful health information at your fingertips. Tracking your weight and body composition is a great way to make sure you stay on top of your health, and knowing your resting heart rate is a useful indicator for overall fitness.” Kim named deemed the product an ‘Editors’ Choice’ in 2013.
