The Levine Museum of the New South

The Levine Museum of the New South is an interactive museum suitable for all ages, filled with educational materials, video, hands-on activities and life-sized representations of important subject matter. Learn how the South changed dramatically after the Civil War, and how the region’s populations adjusted to a new way of life and plotted a successful path forward into the future.

 

Mint Museum Uptown

The Mint Museum Uptown features American, contemporary and European art and is one of several art museums in Charlotte’s Uptown neighborhood. If you’re not staying in Uptown, there is a separate branch of the Mint Museum, the Mint Museum Randolph. Bechtler Museum of Modern Art

The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art boasts an impressive collection of works from the 20th century on, with the largest private collection of modern art in Charlotte. The museum is now celebrating its 10th year, and is hosting a special exhibition, “Filled with Light: The Designs of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art,” in celebration.

 

Discovery Place Science

Discovery Place Science is the place to go if you’re traveling with children. The family-favorite attraction features its own aquarium, rainforest and an IMAX theater.

Airports with the Friendliest Staff

Where can you find the friendliest airport staff? According to Upgraded Points, at Portland International Airport. The travel company’s study focused on the 50 busiest airports, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Upgraded Points then analyzed Google and Yelp reviews for each airport, noting mentions of “friendly” or “rude” staff or TSA. Mentions were compared to the total number of reviews to calculate a ratio of positive to negative interactions, with each airport scored on a scale of 0 to 5 based on the ratio of positive mentions for a possible score of 50.
