Summer concerts often turn out one of two ways: amazing experiences or terrible nightmares. Because they are often so crowded and hectic, trying to improvise and react to unforeseen circumstances can be difficult. Proper planning can go a long way when anticipating a music festival.
Bring the Right Supplies
This may seem obvious, but many concertgoers neglect to prevent themselves from falling victim to the sun. Sunscreen, a refillable water bottle and sunglasses are all crucial to your wellbeing.
Other items you might want to bring include toilet paper, for times of absent port-o-potty rolls; a bandana to keep your neck from burning or to keep the sweat out of your eyes; and the most important, but often forgotten, item of all — your tickets.
Plan Your Attack
Cell phones die and concert venues often don’t have good cell coverage. For this reason, it is important to establish a meeting spot with your friends and set up times to check in with each other.
Before attending, make sure to figure out what the food situation is like and whether you should bring your own or buy food from one of the vendors. Additionally, know what stage your favorite bands are playing on so you don’t miss them.
Establish an Escape Route
If you drive in, make a note of where you parked. Trying to find a car in the pitch black at 3 a.m. in an open field can be difficult. Also, you may consider planting yourself near the exit before the last show ends and establishing a designated driver beforehand.
