For women who’ve had uncomfortable experiences with traditional taxi services, Paris now has its own female-only taxi company, Women Drive.

While the comfort of being driven around by someone not necessarily a potential threat is appreciated, Women Drive hardly stops there. The fleet of cars is entirely Mercedes coupes, and each rider is treated to complimentary water, makeup kits for in-ride touch ups and tablets. Plus, the company offers additional services if needed, such as concierge services and personal shopping, as well as tours. Each driver is multilingual and has a background in customer service. It’s also easy to see, just by looking at the Women Drive website, the company not only values its female passengers, but also its drivers — referring to them as professionals, hostesses and ambassadors.

Pricing is affordable, with short rides based on distance like a traditional taxi and longer rides given a flat rate (€50 per hour, or even €350 for a full day of shopping and tourism). You can book either one-way or return trips.

There is one downside, though. To take a ride with Women Drive, you can book your trip online, but you have to book at least a day in advance. This makes Women Drive a little more suited for planned trips around the city, rather than when you need a late-night Uber. However, the service is a great start and one that can only expand.

While currently you can only find Women Drive in Paris, the owner, Sarra Boubchir, dreams of taking the service country-wide.
