Nothing says spring like flowers in bloom. The New York Botanical Garden announced its 2018 edition of The Orchid Show, designed by acclaimed Belgian floral artist, Daniel Ost.
Now in its 16th year, the popular exhibition showcases thousands of artfully displayed orchids in the Garden’s historic Enid A. Haupt Conservatory. Ost worked with Botanical Garden horticulturists to create a tropical haven of fragrance and color — the perfect escape from the blustery New York winter.
During Orchid Evenings, running throughout the exhibition, music, tours and special performances are scheduled, and a cash bar serving beer, wine and cocktails is available. Top-quality orchids, products and care books are for purchase.
One of the world’s leading floral designers, Ost uses flowers to express the unique environment of the Garden’s landmark Victorian-style conservatory, complementing the architecture of the building. He’s celebrated worldwide for his installations in private and public spaces, always working with living, cut flowers.
The show runs March 3–April 22. Visit the website to purchase tickets.
