Tips / Travel

While many may give the advice of don’t take too much, when it comes to going to a country or state you may not return from, sometimes more is more.

It is true you can buy towels, jeans and toiletries nearly everywhere, but you might want to pack some framed photographs, a sculpture that means something to you or just a big bottle of your favorite condiment as you never know when you may be able to hold it in your hand again.

There is a famous saying that goes along the lines of, “after finishing packing, take out half of what you packed and bring twice as much money.” The sentiment is indeed true, but if you think you may not catch the return flight, it might be a good idea to take those boots you first bought when you were 17.

Don’t go overboard: If you need help carrying your luggage it will put a damper on your day. Lowe Alpine do a great range of travel bags for when there isn’t a taxi driver around. These bags will allow you to carry comfortably what you deemed fit to bring with you; one big bag with wheels and a sturdy carry-on and you are good to go.

If you are running away from things, go light; if you are running toward them, take whatever you hold most dear.
