Patagonia is one of the best-known names in the outdoor gear industry. So, what’s their name doing on food? The Patagonia Provisions arm of the respected gear maker aims to continue the ethos of socially responsible sourcing and product development — but this time, with consumables.
“Our foods are the products of forward-thinking farmers, ranchers and fishermen who embrace growing methods that regenerate and restore our resources, rather than depleting them,” the website reads. “It’s a partnership with nature that results in delicious, high-quality products while simultaneously shaping a more responsible, farsighted approach to our global food system. We’re on a mission to create a better tomorrow.”
Among its products are dried soups and chilis, perfect for backpacking, camping, traveling or just for ease of use at home.
The chef-created line is entirely meat and dairy free, and made only with certified organic, non-GMO ingredients. Flavorful, wholesome and easy-to-prepare options include red bean chili, green lentil soup, black bean soup and garden veggie. The meals can be purchased in bulk online or in individual packets.
The soups are surprisingly filling and nutritious despite lacking meat and dairy — and that also means no weird dehydrated animal products. Each one is packed with flavor, protein, grains and vegetables for a well-rounded meal.
