In exclusive partnership with SKANDL and 62Nord, Pelorus recently launched A Taste for Adventure culinary journey through Norway. The experiential travel and yachting company curated a three- to five-day opportunity to explore the very best of Norway’s landscape through exciting adventure experiences and, of course, through food.
From hands-on masterclasses led by chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants to experiencing Nordic fishing, foraging and food preparation techniques, guests also learn the techniques of open-flame cooking.

“We have long heralded the wild beauty of Norway and sent many guests to experience this landscape, its culture and people in true Pelorus style, but we are delighted to be building on this experience by partnering with SKANDL and 62Nord to further enhance guests’ time on the ground, particularly for those with a love of all things foodie,” said Geordie Mackay-Lewis, CEO, Pelorus.
Travelers delve deep into the culture and nature of this remote wilderness and create special memories along with staying at the beautiful surroundings of 62Nord properties (either Hotel Union Øye or Storfjord Hotel).
Each journey will be individually tailored, but below is a suggested five-day itinerary.
Day 1: A Nordic Welcome
Arrive at one of the 62Nord properties and discuss the upcoming journey over an open fire and hot chocolate made with local cream and spices. For dinner, guests dine at the Chef’s Table for a feast of seasonal Nordic foods, showcasing a menu of special items.

Day 2: Adventure
Collected by Chef Henrik Ritzen and local fishermen, travelers set sail in a bay to try their hand at fishing to source the freshest of ingredients. Following a morning at sea, take to the skies for a helicopter ride to Storfjord, across the fjords and then a masterclass with Chef Henry Faddy to learn how to cure salmon.
Day 3: Voyage & BBQ
Head out on a Zodiac cruise on Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO Heritage site known for its cascading waterfalls, ancient farms and folklore, before a pleasant kayak ride. The day comes to a close with a luxury barbecue hosted by Henrik and Harry, including Arctic king crab accompanied by canapés with Carelian Nordic caviar.

Day 4: The Grand Dinner
Wake up early for a hike or e-bike the stunning Norangdal Valley and forage wild mushrooms and herbs while learning about the local cooking methods handed down from generation to generation. Following, guests enjoy a picnic lunch and a visit to some of Norway’s most beautiful viewpoints before traveling by helicopter to an evening six-course feast to remember.
Day 5: Departure and Gravadlax Presentation
On the final morning, relax with a fireside breakfast and signature 62Nord spa treatment and leave with a cured gravadlax, packaged and prepared to be taken home.
The all-inclusive (besides international flights) A Taste for Adventure experience starts from $100,000 for a group of six guests traveling for five days and can be booked March–November. For bookings and inquiries, visit the Pelorus website or call 1 800 659 0217.
