Personal finance social network Wallethub recently released the results of its ranking of most pet-friendly cities in the United States. To compile the list, Wallethub analyzed data collected from the 100 most populated U.S. cities across three factors: pet budget, pet health and wellness, outdoor pet friendliness. Those three factors were further analyzed using 19 relevant metrics, including veterinary care costs, number of pet-friendly restaurants per capita and number of dog parks per capita. Each metric was graded and total results were calculated to create the list.
Top 10 Most Pet-Friendly Cities
- Orlando, Fla.
- Birmingham, Ala.
- Tampa, Fla.
- Lexington-Fayette, Ky.
- Scottsdale, Ariz.
- Reno, Nev.
- Colorado Springs, Colo.
- Cincinnati, Ohio
- Las Vegas, Nev.
- Louis, Mo.
The top five cities with most pet businesses per capita are Las Vegas, Miami, Cincinnati, Orlando and Scottsdale. For most animal shelters per capita, Atlanta, St. Louis, Orlando, Scottsdale and Boise rank highest.
