America’s fastest-growing sport now has its own national day, Aug. 8. To celebrate, here are seven hotels and resorts in stunning destinations where guests can play pickleball.
An iconic and storied property with deep roots on Mackinac Island in Northern Michigan, Grand Hotel celebrates its 137th anniversary this year. Last year, the property unveiled a new multimillion-dollar recreational facility, The Woodlands Activity Center, home to a greenhouse, mini golf, lawn games, pickleball courts and more.

On the Kona-Kohala coast of Hawai’i sits an oceanfront community, home to real estate opportunities and Four Seasons Resort Hualālai. Guests can take advantage of Hualālai Tennis Club, which offers two pickleball courts, eight Rebound Ace surface courts and a variety of programs including private lessons and instructional clinics.
Grand View Lodge, one of the Midwest’s most historic lakeside lodges in the Brainerd Lakes area of Minnesota, recently added pickleball courts to its amenities. New recreation club NorthPark features pickleball courts, bocce ball courts, an oversized Jacuzzi and a waterslide.
Located in Greater Palm Springs, Hyatt Regency Indian Wells has four hard-surface pickleball courts on site. A legacy in the tennis world, the resort decided to install the pickleball courts in response to the rise of interest in the sport.

The Lodge at Kukui’ula, on the South Shore of Kauai, offers a pickleball experience by the beach. The resort opened three new pickleball courts this year, one of which can be used for multiple sports. Guests can take private lessons or a group clinic during their stay.
Punta Mita recently installed four pickleball courts for homeowners and hotel visitors. The courts have been popular and, as a result, Punta Mita now hosts annual tournaments, interclubs, clinics and lessons.
