Sometimes after the holidays, you need a little break from all the rushing around, hustle and bustle and general demands of it all. Here are some of the warm, easy-breezy destinations that will welcome you even if your travel funds are a little low following gift giving and holiday shopping.

Jacksonville, Fla.

With multiple free beaches, cheap flights to and from and a multitude of affordable hotels, Jacksonville is an attractive winter destination. Plus, there are plenty of free attractions in the city, such as the Kingsley Plantation and the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve.

Las Vegas

You can nearly always find a great deal when planning a trip to Vegas. Look out for cheaper hotel prices after the holiday rush, and opt to stay in a hotel off The Strip for maximum savings. Check out the many free attractions beyond the slot machines.

Cambodia

So maybe you want to get out of the country. If that’s the case, and you have a little more change to spare, hop a flight to Cambodia for around $550. Stay in a no-frills hotel for better savings, and enjoy this country’s prime January weather.

Costa Rica

For around $350, you can fly to and live it up in Costa Rica, with inexpensive flights from major cities and ultra-cheap hotel prices in San Jose. Beyond the great weather, rainforest adventures and beautiful beaches, you’ll also find Costa Rica has plenty in the way of wildlife during winter months, such as baby sea turtles and whale watching.
