My husband and I flew Delta Air Lines’ first-class cabin on a recent trip to New Orleans. We sped through the priority line at security on our early flight out of Philadelphia (PHL). The route took us to John F. Kennedy International Airport for a stop before moving on to New Orleans (MSY).

Excited to start our trip, we waited at the priority boarding line at JFK and were the first to pass through when first-class boarding began. We made our way to our seats in the second row, placed our carry-on luggage in the overhead bins and settled into our seats. Within a moment, a flight attendant came through to take our drink order. I ordered a Bloody Mary and closed my eyes for take-off.

Flight attendants came through the cabin passing out headphones, which I took to watch the in-flight entertainment selection. Shortly after, they took breakfast orders: a chorizo and egg sandwich or Chex cereal. Hungry from waking up so early, we grabbed a bite to eat at the airport, so I opted to skip these selections. Unfortunately for me, the chorizo sandwich ordered by the couple behind me smelled wonderful.

Delta offered a nice selection of recent movies for the flight, just more than three hours. After some consideration, I decided to watch Gold. Unfortunately, the sound quality was poor and I dozed during most of the film.

After a pleasant flight and smooth landing, we swiftly grabbed our bags and made our way off the plane to start our vacation.

The Argosaronic Islands Are Calling

The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides. In fact, trips from Athens ports to the islands take only between 10 minutes and two hours, depending on the island you choose, making them perfect for day or weekend trips.
