The Samsung T1 Portable Drive is a compact portable storage device that adds an extra oomph of security, making it perfect for those traveling abroad.

The portable SSD is barely bigger than your average thumb drive, so it’s easy to carry it with your wherever you go. It also weighs only one ounce, so you’ll barely notice it’s there.
It comes with three storage capacities — 250GB, 500GB and 1 terabyte. You’d be hard pressed to come up with enough data to fill the smallest one up, but if you’re a hardcore computer user, the upper-tier versions should provide you with more than enough capacity. The Samsung T1 also works with both Mac and Windows computers.

Most importantly, it allows for AES 256 bit data encryption so you if you happen to lose your T1 or it gets stolen, your data will be safe. It also includes read-write speeds of up to 450 MB/s, faster than any other on the market. The Samsung T1 is shock-resistant, meaning it take a bit of a beating without being damaged, so it’s safe to stick in your checked bag on your next flight.
The only downside is the drive is a little pricey. The 1TB version goes for a suggested price of $499.99, but you might be able to find it cheaper by browsing. The 250GB and 500GB come in at $149.99 and $249.99, respectively. Learn more at samsung.com.
