Every year toward the end of June, the famous streets of San Francisco are filled with floats, eccentric characters, color and music all in celebration of gay pride. On June 25–26, supporters will parade in costume and party the day away in celebration of love, freedom and equality.

Pride celebrations begin Saturday, June 25, in the Civic Center where supporters flow into the streets for a party that fills the city to its brim. This citywide festival leads pride partiers through the streets and into attractions like the Faerie Freedom Village or the Leather Alley. With 20 stages featuring performers and more than 300 exhibitors, the day can get wild and last through the night.

After a day of sunshine and dancing, Sunday morning brings the main event: the world famous Pride Parade. The parade is the largest in the nation with more than 1 million proud supporters in attendance.

The structure of the weekend is free flowing so visitors can come and go as they choose, but some events require tickets. The San Francisco streets are hilly and will be packed, so those planning to attend should be prepared to walk and dance, a lot.
