Tips / Other

Get your holiday shopping done early this year and actually enjoy the season and celebrations. The earlier you get your shopping done, the more crowds you can avoid and save on last-minute purchases.

Shopping from home is a simple and effective way to get the bulk of your shopping done early. You won’t need to spend extra on rush delivery and you can use online coupons and take your time shopping for the best deals available. Not only can you read reviews and feel confident about your purchases, but you have the added luxury of knowing exactly how much you’re spending prior to buying.

Get organized and know exactly whom you are shopping for. If you find a good deal on great gift staples, like picture frames or candles purchase a few at once as you can easily pop them into a gift bag or stocking.

If you’re buying in the store, still do your research online and have confidence in your purchases to save time with returns and exchanges. Opt for gift cards when you can. Although it may not be the most personal gift, some people really do want gift cards for massages, dinners and money cards. You can always give a card and a thoughtful gift like a photo in a frame or bottle of wine to show it wasn’t a last-minute thought.

Speaking of last-minute thoughts, steer clear of the Christmas-themed gift. They will be out in stores early and a tempting, but anything covered in a holiday theme seems like a last-minute purchase.
