Tips / Other

Whether you’re saving for a big purchase or just want a little extra spending money, there are simple ways to save without completely cutting back. Follow our tips of small ways to save.

Join Free Rewards Programs

Sign up for the rewards program at whichever grocery store, pharmacy or other retailer you frequent. Depending on where you shop, you will receive coupons and other deals on items you regularly purchase simply for being a member.

Only Use Your Bank ATM

While this might not always be convenient, by exclusively using your bank’s ATM, you will avoid extra fees. A few dollars every time you make a transaction adds up quickly.

Buying Fancy Coffee

Quit your daily Starbucks habit and opt to make coffee at home instead. You can find reasonably priced coffeemakers at Target and Bed Bath and Beyond and grounds at your local grocery store. If you followed our first suggestion, you may even have coffee coupons.

Visit the Library

Instead of purchasing books or DVDs, stop by your local library. Services like Hoopla work together with local libraries to offer free audiobook, digital movies and more to rent on your phone or tablet. Sign up is free.

Eat at Home

The convenience of delivery or the drive-thru window may be tempting, but cooking at home is an easy way to save money. Meal prep lunches for the week and test out new recipes instead of constantly dining out.
