Each year London’s Southbank comes alive in a celebration of the year’s coldest season.
Distract yourself from the winter chill thanks to pop-up restaurants and bars, as well as numerous activities. The festivities run until Jan. 25, 2017.
Warm up with some mulled cider at the Rekordelig Winter Lodge before striking out in search of the perfect Christmas gift at the Southbank Centre Christmas Market. If you’re among the minority of people that have already organized their presents, sit back and take in the show at Bianco by the NoFit State Circus. For those that fancy getting active, there is the Bump Roller Disco, where you can skate around to build up an appetite before stopping in for some food at one of the many pop-ups on site.
The Southbank has become a focus for festive activity in London, and 2016 will be no different. Thanks to a varied program of events and plenty of eating, drinking and shopping opportunities, the event looks set to bring in crowds of visitors.
The site is situated near Waterloo Station, on the bank of the Thames. From here, you can stroll down river or cross the Thames to Covent Garden for more festive fun.
