Newport Jazz Festival
Immediately following the Folk Fest, Newport hosts one of the nation’s largest jazz festivals. Get your dose of Jamie Cullum, Dr. John and many others from July 31–Aug. 2.
Gathering of the Vibes
New England’s biggest jam is in its 20th year. From July 30–Aug. 2, party next to the water at Bridgeport, Conn.’s Seaside Park. Headliners are too many to mention but include the String Cheese Incident, Weezer and Wilco.
Newport Folk Festival
No festival, literally no festival, worldwide is as historic and important as Rhode Island’s Newport Folk Festival. This year it takes place on the last weekend in July and features everyone important you’ve ever heard of: Hozier, Sufjan Stevens, Jason Isbell …
