South-by-South West is a truly unique festival and conference series held every year in Austin, Texas. With an indie film festival March 11–19, a music festival from March 15–20 and an interactive conference in between, this innovative and original idea-driven festival allows registered guests to explore creative new projects.

Events are going on constantly throughout the year, but the festival in March allows movie and music fans to gather and meet their favorite content creators. The festival showcases the best of the year in terms of indie films, directors, screenwriters and actors all sitting on panels answering questions, discussing ideas and behind the scenes.
There will often be live podcast shows with comedians and guests as well as film screenings and live performances. Informative conferences with top executives in the business offer a platform to speak and discuss new ideas with fans.

The music festival consists of local bands and on the rise, unique talent. With genres ranging from folk to rap and rock, there is plenty of new music to go around. Venues for events are spread out a bit in Austin, which gives people attending an opportunity to explore Austin and pick and choose their experience rather than bunch up all in one location for the full week.
Overall, the festival is more educational and informative than any other. With seemingly rare and amazing opportunities for fans to hear, see and maybe even meet their creative idols, SXSW is one of a kind.
