Ever dreamt of spotting some of Africa’s most endangered primates? What if you could see them up close and support their future survival? Nkuringo Safaris gives travelers the chance to see rare mountain gorillas and golden monkeys on a new tour.

The Mountain Gorilla and Golden Monkey Trekking Safari in Southwestern Uganda tour brings travelers through the wild valleys and woodlands of Bwindi and Mgahinga national parks. These trekking trips also generate revenue then reinvested into conservation efforts to stabilize populations by halting habitat loss, restoring degraded areas and raising awareness of the importance of protecting these endangered primates.
Highlights of this seven-day, tailor-made trip include trekking through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of mountain gorillas with just six other travelers, and witnessing rare golden monkeys foraging and playing amidst a forest of bamboo. Travelers will visit botanical gardens or Mabamba Swamps to see the prehistoric shoebill. Other stops include an early flight to Kisoro, a picturesque town at the base of the Virunga Volcanoes, and a walk through the communities and terraced gardens of Lake Mutanda.
