Take Your Bachelor/ette on a Literary Pub Crawl

The Edinburgh Literary Pub Tour is the perfect way to start a night during your bachelor or bachelorette getaway, and will give you a great feel for the pubs and nightlife in the area so you’ll know where to go next.

The tour begins at the Beehive Inn in Grassmarket and continues to three different pubs on the way to Rose Street, where the final performance is performed at either The Kenilworth, The Milnes Bar or Cafe Royal Pub.

This is not your typical pub crawl. It features professional actors who engage the audience in a witty yet heated debate over stories about Edinburgh’s famous writers and literary figures from past and present. They give a short backstory when they mention or reference specific writers, and the actors are engaging enough you don’t need to be a scholar in order to enjoy their banter.

Don’t worry, you won’t be drinking on an empty stomach. They offer supper packages for you to grab a bite before or after your tour. If you choose to eat before the tour, your order will get priority over the other restaurant patrons to make sure you will have time to finish your meal.

Private tours are also available if you plan on bringing a large group of 10 or more, and want a more individualized experience. If you are on a tight schedule, or want to choose a different beginning or ending point, a private tour will give you and your party more flexibility.
