The GCI 3-Position Event Chair

Folding event chairs are easy to come by. It seems every convenience store or supermarket or sporting goods store carries several kinds. GCI offers a 3-Position Event Chair that is among the most comfortable on the market, even if it’s not really the most portable.

The chair has a three-position adjustable backrest, which is one of its best facets. This means you can — fairly easily — adjust the angle of the backrest to your comfort. It’s a little tricky the first time you adjust it, but straightforward enough.

The chair also has a side table with a beverage holder, so you’ve basically got an entire camping or tailgating kit all stowed away in one product. However, this addition makes the chair a bit heavy for easy transport; the entire product weighs 12.5 pounds, making it noticeably heavier than other, similar products. Your arms may very well tire of carrying it much farther than a few dozen yards.

The chair does fold flat, which is convenient, and there is a carry handle, but you can’t simply sling this one over your shoulder and walk a mile while also carrying an ice chest. The table is a definite trade-off of this product. Still, the chair is comfortable, with breathable nylon and polyester, and the aforementioned adjustable back. Folding it takes practice, too, and isn’t as easy the first few times as the “EAZY-FOLD Technology” claims to be.
