Dates have been announced for the much anticipated D23 Expo 2017. The event is the Comic-Con of Disney, specially created for diehard Disney fans, and scheduled for July 14–16, 2017, held at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Produced by D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, the event brings together all of the new and upcoming features from Disney’s parks, movies, music, gaming and television, including the same from Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
The biggest attractions are the Disney Legends Ceremony to honor significant Disney contributors, a Walt Disney Archives exhibit, the Mousequerade costume contest and a memorabilia and collectibles marketplace. Guests can purchase passes to the most in-demand presentations and speakers in advance, as well as VIP passes to certain event shopping venues.
The event follows D23 Expo 2015, which featured appearances from fan favorites such as Harrison Ford, Chris Evans and Johnny Depp, as well performances from Ne-Yo and the stars of Disney-produced Broadway shows. Guests were treated to first looks at costumes for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and upcoming plans for Star Wars-themed offerings at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
Tickets will be available for purchase one year in advance and tens of thousands of attendees are expected.
