Destination

The medieval heart of Rhodes greets visitors arriving to its port, where once the giant Colossus of Rhodes stood, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Today, Rhodes draws visitors for its ancient and modern attractions.

Options for activities on the island include touring the town of Lindos, with its white buildings winding up a steep hill towards the ancient Acropolis. There, you can explore the ancient Temple of Athena, built in 300 B.C., as well as the captains’ mansions, dating between the 16th and 18th centuries. Exploring the town of Lindos, you’ll find charming restaurants with outdoor dining options and an array of shops.

Spend time walking through the medieval town center of Rhodes, which is remarkably preserved and today is a thriving collection of shops and restaurants. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the Throne of Helios, a 9D movie that immerses visitors in the history and culture of the island. There’s also a small museum attached that gives further history.

Other options in Rhodes include the acropolis of ancient Rhodes on the hill of St. Stephanos, the Hellenistic Temple of Apollo, the Ancient Stadium of Diagoras, the Byzantine church of St. George Hostos and Tsampika beach.
