Tips for Unplugging on Vacation

In a world fueled by connectedness via text, email and social media, it can be almost impossible to truly unplug when traveling. Give yourself a digital detox the next time you go on vacation. Follow our tips for the best ways to unplug.

Leave Devices at Home

Instead of packing your laptop, phone, tablet and any other electronic device to distract you, leave them at home and only bring your phone for emergencies.

Embrace Paper

Write important notes about your travel plans in a notebook. This way you’ll have it right at hand without having to access your device constantly.

Set Up an Autoreply

Make sure to set up an out-of-office message for your work email, so everyone knows you can’t answer emails until you return. Do the same for your personal email if you think you’ll receive a lot of messages during your trip.
