Planning a Night Out in Berlin

Tips / Destination

The German capital is famous for its bars and clubs, but how should you go about planning a big night out in Berlin?

Start at a beer garden, such as Prater Garden, or a neighborhood bar, like Das Hotel, for a few warm-up beers before moving on for a fortifying portion of currywurst (sausage with curry sauce) to line up the stomach. You’ll find currywurst spots all over town and it definitely helps soak up the beer.

With a new lease on life, drop into Die Weinerei if you like wine, or Bar Tausend if cocktails are more your thing. For those on a tight budget, you can drop into a corner store and buy some beers for the road. Many have tables for drinking outside, but street drinking is widely accepted in Berlin so you can drink as you wander around if you like.

Later on, it’s time to see some of the famous clubs, such as Watergate, Club der Visionaere or even the world-famous Berghain. Spend a few hours listening to the pounding beat of house and techno before hopping into a cab to Bei Schlawinchen, a 24-hour bar in Kreuzberg.

If you’ve still got some fuel in the tank, go to No58 Speiserei for breakfast. It will help the hangover, or perhaps give you the energy for a few more hours partying …

Platform Helps Remote Workers, Business Travelers Find Work-Friendly Hotels

If you’ve ever attempted to work on the go — not necessarily for a business trip, but just because your job offers the flexibility of remote working — you may have struggled with working from your hotel room. Your options are typically plugging your laptop in next to a tiny in-room table, if you’re lucky, or you’re stuck answering emails from your hotel bed — hardly conducive to productivity.
