Top 5 / Europe

Nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona is rife with places from which to gaze at views of both natural wonders as well as the city itself. Here are the best places in Barcelona to see the city (and beyond) in all its glory.

Montjuic

Views from atop this city-adjacent park stretch east to the Mediterranean Sea and north to the mountains, sometimes even the Pyrenees in the distance. Getting to the top of this mountain takes only about 30 minutes on foot, or can be done via bus, taxi, cable car or funicular.

Tibidabo

Tibidabo is the site of the Church of the Sacred Heart, but also an amusement park. Take the funicular, drive or hike to the top, one of the highest acmes in the city.

Park Guëll

While certainly not the highest point on the list, Gaudi’s park still provide views of the city and sea, and is full of Gaudi’s art, walking paths and photo ops.

Bunkers del Carmel

At the site of old war bunkers, this viewpoint is one of the only places where you can take in 360-degree vistas. The only way to reach the top is on foot, so make sure you stretch before making the climb, and pack a few beers to reward yourself at the top.

1881 per SAGARDI

Not all viewpoints need to be on top of mountains. This rooftop bar and restaurant in the centrally located Port Vell offers stunning sunset views of the port, the city’s bell towers and even Tibidabo and Montjuic in the distance.
