Top 5 / Other

It is hard to find the perfect activity for a second date. The first date determined whether or not you wanted to get to know one another while the second date may have some expectations. Rather than thwart those expectations by sitting in a movie, try to a more playful approach with one of these low-key winter sports.

Hiking

Hiking is always a good idea. It is easy to talk, but distracting enough to not put too much pressure on anyone. If there aren’t any decent nature reserves in close proximity to where you live, then try a city walk instead.

Ice Skating

Ice skating is a bit trickier in that it involves some skill and coordination, but with the right people it could be fun and might bring back memories of childhood.

Ping Pong

Ping pong is not the most obvious choice, but there are more and more ping pong clubs to choose from. If you are a competitive person, you will be surprised by how much work the sport actually takes to win while also maintaining a real conversation.

Bowling

Bowling is an old stand-by. And you can drink while you partake in a sporty event! It is almost required.

Curling

Curling is not as easy to come by, but if you live in a major city with snowy temperatures, there is a good chance there is a curling club or a bar with a couple of novelty curling rinks on their roof. Ask around.

Whatever you do, keep it simple. And if you choose ice skating, definitely try that double axel you’ve always thought looked so easy when you were watching the Olympics.
