Triple Creek Ranch, a sanctuary tucked away in Darby, Mont., offers a bevy of winter activities, including dog sledding, skiing and cooking lessons. Additionally, the resort is decked out for the holiday season; guests can choose from a selection of freshly cut evergreens or a faux tree to decorate their guest cabins.
Iditarod Race finisher and mushing guide Jessie Royer offers dog sledding instruction, teaching guests to harness and hitch the dogs to the sled, to stop and go properly and to maneuver the sled.
The resort Executive Chef Jacob Leatherman and his team leads hands-on instruction to cooks of all levels, teaching new techniques and recipes. Cooking School and Vinter Weekends are available throughout the season.
Lost Trail Powder Mountain is 30 minutes from Triple Creek Ranch, offering 1,800 acres of skiable terrains and 50 runs. Guests receive complimentary lift tickets, equipment rental and transportation.
Through Feb. 28, opt for Triple Creek Ranch’s The Big Sky Big Five Snow offer, including five nights in cabin accommodations; all meals, house wines, spirits and beers; a full day of snowmobiling; tandem dogsledding; horseback riding in the snow; skijoring (skiers pulled through the snow by horse); alpine or Nordic skiing at Lost Trail Powder Mountain; a one-hour massage per guest; and a commemorative gift.
