Greenville, S.C., isn’t often on the radar as a place tourists are just dying to see, but the last few years have seen an impressive upswing in this small city’s cultural and dining options.
Start your day in Greenville with a leisurely stroll through the beautifully landscaped downtown and cross the bridge of the river running through town. You’ll find plenty of shopping opportunities. The Dark Corner Distillery offers up moonshine by the jug, if you’re looking for a special treat to take home to friends. Pedal Chic, an upscale bicycle and apparel retailer that caters to women is a fun choice, too.

A quick breakfast at Stax Omega Diner is certainly in order. Here you’ll find them serving heaping helpings of pancakes all day long. A breakfast for two shouldn’t cost you more than $20.
Devote the rest of your morning to a Greenville History Tour. There are plenty to choose from and each will give you a rich insight into the city’s historic roots. The cost of a tour is only $12, so it won’t break the bank.
For lunch make your way over to The Lazy Goat. This Mediterranean-style spot servesdelicious wraps, paninis, pizzas and even wine! Depending on your appetite a plate will cost anywhere between $8 and $20.

An afternoon of art and history is in order after such a scrumptious meal. Head to Heritage Green, 11 acres dedicated entirely to housing museums and education centers in Greenville. You’ll find the Children’s Museum of the Upstate ($10), the Greenville County Museum of Art (free), the Upcountry History Museum ($5) and more.
If you have time, consider walking or biking the famous Swamp Rabbit Trail. It’s 19 miles long and contains some pretty beautiful views.

Finally, for dinner you’ll want to head to The Green Room for a true taste of down home cooking. They do comfort food in style here, so the prices are a little above average, but the jalapeno macaroni and cheese is not to be missed. Entrees here cost around $15 to $30.
Afterward, end your day with an evening stroll back downtown with the lights lit for a special treat.

Insta FeedAre You Ready for the Final Switch to Real ID?
Yesterday, TSA began enforcing new identification guidelines, a change that’s been a long-time coming. Now, travelers must show a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued ID in order to fly on domestic flights, in lieu of a non-compliant driver’s license (some other forms of identification, such as passports, will still be acceptable).
