Under $100: Hammonton, New Jersey

Hammonton, New Jersey, is located in Atlantic County. Known as the “Blueberry Capital of the World,” the town boasts a charming downtown and various outdoor attractions. There is plenty to see and do for less than $100 a day.

 

Start your day at Ohana Juice Bar, serving juices, smoothies, salads, açai bowls, wraps and snacks. Spend about $10 or less on breakfast. Head outside of the downtown area to Wharton State Forest. The largest state forest in New Jersey, there are 50 miles of marked trails for hikers to explore. There are numerous trails of different lengths, perfect for beginners or experienced hikers. Admission to the park is free.

 

Have lunch at El Mariachi Loco. The Mexican restaurant offers a large menu of classic dishes, from tacos and tortas to enchiladas and burritos. Spend about $10–20. Stroll around Hammonton’s downtown. Browse the quaint antique shops, clothing stores, art shops and toy stores. Visit Noyes Museum of Art. Part of Stockton University, the galleries feature exhibits that change seasonally and showcase works from local, national and international artists, as well as Stockton faculty and students. Admission is free.

 

Have dinner at Annata Wine Bar. The wine bar and restaurant boast an extensive wine list of local and international wines. The dinner menu features salads, small plates and entrées utilizing local ingredients. Entrées start around $20. Go on a mini bar crawl through Hammonton’s craft breweries and distillery. Blue Rascal Distillery, Three 3’s Brewing Company and Vinyl Brewing Company are all located within short walking distance of one another, making for the perfect mini tour. Order beers, cocktails or tastings, depending on your drinking preference. Prices vary by location.
