Using Time Efficiently on Long Flights

While some people dread taking a long flight, many people use it as a time to catch up on work or relaxation. Follow our tips for making the most of your time on a long flight.

• Take advantage of WiFi. Many long-haul flights now offer WiFi for purchase. Pricing varies depending on the carrier, so be sure to check out the duration and price options before purchasing.

• Catch up on work. Use this time to finish that big project or catch up on emails.

• Binge watch. A long flight is the perfect time to binge watch that show you’ve been meaning to watch, or catch up on the new feature films you missed. Virgin America currently offers Netflix streaming to passengers on select aircraft.

• Complete boring tasks. At the start of your flight, get around to any boring, monotonous tasks you need to accomplish. Putting together an expense sheet or writing out thank you cards will help pass the time.

• Plan your trip. Take this time to prepare for your upcoming trip. Do some research for places to visit or go through your presentation for your business meeting.

• Pay attention to the time difference. If you’re traveling to a destination with a substantial time change, plan your time on board accordingly. Depending on your departure and arrival time, sleeping on the flight might be your best option for being ready to start your day upon arrival.
