Located in New Orleans’ Irish Channel neighborhood, NOLA Brewing Company is a great spot to experience local beer away from the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street.
Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, the last remaining New Orleans brewery, Dixie, shut down and moved production out of state. There were no longer any breweries in New Orleans. This prompted Kirk Coco to found NOLA Brewing Company. Today, the goal of the brewery is to serve great beer to the great people of New Orleans and support the community.
The Tap Room is open seven days a week, 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Sample from the rotating tap of about two dozen beers. Popular brews include the Irish Channel Stout, Rebirth Pale Ale and Hopitoulas. Grab a seat by the taps, or make your way to the rooftop bar. What goes better with beer than a plate of delicious barbecue? McClure’s BBQ has a counter right next to the bar. Looking for a permanent home, McClure’s set up shop directly in the brewery and is exclusively sold there.
