The country has been receiving ample attention — which means you’ll want to visit soon if you want to be ahead of the trends. Already Colombia has seen historic numbers of visitors in 2022, with bookings up 148 percent compared to 2021. Additionally, at this year’s World Travel Awards, Colombia took home a bevy of top honors, including leading beach destination, leading remerging destination, leading business destination, leading cultural city, leading destination for festivities and events, and leading destination for honeymoons.
Columbia is a Dream for Nature Lovers
If you’re all about exploring a country’s natural landscapes, from beaches to rain forests and beyond, you’ll find plenty to love in Colombia. The country accounts for 10 percent of the world’s biodiversity, with the largest number of bird species, butterfly species and orchid species. It’s also the only South American country with both Caribbean and Pacific shorelines.
Easy to Travel from the United States to Colombia
Lastly, and maybe most importantly, there are now eight airlines offering non-stop flights to nine destinations in Colombia from 10 U.S. cities. If you live near a major air hub, chances are likely tyou can easily hop a non-stop flight to Colombia.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network. The airline added new non-stop flights between Newark (EWR) and Marrakesh (RAK), Morocco; Tokyo (NRT) and Cebu (CEB), Philippines; and Houston (IAH) and Medellin (MDE), Colombia. That’s not all: United also plans to increase flights to popular worldwide destinations including Hong Kong (HKG); Seoul (INC), South Korea; and Porto (OPO), Portugal. Following the recent agreement to increase flights between the U.S. and Chinese governments, the airline now adds four weekly flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai (PVG).
