Dreaming of visiting Colombia in the near future? Now might just be the perfect time. According to the country’s Ministry of Tourism, Colombia is this winter’s Latin American travel hot spot.

Here’s why:

Colombia Turns Heads

The country has been receiving ample attention — which means you’ll want to visit soon if you want to be ahead of the trends. Already Colombia has seen historic numbers of visitors in 2022, with bookings up 148 percent compared to 2021. Additionally, at this year’s World Travel Awards, Colombia took home a bevy of top honors, including leading beach destination, leading remerging destination, leading business destination, leading cultural city, leading destination for festivities and events, and leading destination for honeymoons.

Columbia is a Dream for Nature Lovers

If you’re all about exploring a country’s natural landscapes, from beaches to rain forests and beyond, you’ll find plenty to love in Colombia. The country accounts for 10 percent of the world’s biodiversity, with the largest number of bird species, butterfly species and orchid species. It’s also the only South American country with both Caribbean and Pacific shorelines.

Easy to Travel from the United States to Colombia

Lastly, and maybe most importantly, there are now eight airlines offering non-stop flights to nine destinations in Colombia from 10 U.S. cities. If you live near a major air hub, chances are likely tyou can easily hop a non-stop flight to Colombia.
