Club W, recently rebranded as Winc, continues as the new, improved, premier, web-based wine delivery. The startup originated in California, in 2012 and grew quickly as a trusted winemaker and distribution site, all at wholesale cost.
New members take a five-question quiz in order for the professionals at Winc to determine the user’s palate. From there, a collection is curated accordingly of three- to four-bottle packages of monthly bundles that cost about $13 a bottle.
Wine bottles are delivered to the subscriber’s home monthly, with free shipping when a fourth bottle is ordered. With a direct relationship to the vineyards, Winc receives the grapes, makes the wine in-house in their professional facility and distributes to the customer directly. This streamlined process allows Winc to cut costs and provide as close to a vineyard-to-doorstep experience as possible.
Customers can also purchase individual bottles from anywhere between $13 and $32, or order a variety of higher-end bottles for $65 a month. The wines rotate regularly so members will constantly be introduced to a featured wine of the month, seasonal specials and favorites chosen by taste preference.
