WOW Air, if you haven’t heard of them already, is a low-cost airline servicing numerous destinations in Europe, Canada and the United States. Since it was founded in 2011, it has grown rapidly and continues to do so with some ridiculously cheap tickets on offer.

Now that you’ve forgiven the volcano with the unpronounceable name for blowing up and causing us to miss our flights back in 2010, you can now go on holiday there without breaking the bank. WOW Air is offering direct flights to Iceland from the United States from as low as $99.

The country boasts a wondrous expanse of beauty, ranging from sprawling forests, narrow fjords and dotted islands, to slumbering volcanoes and magnificent blue lagoons. The country’s capital, Reykjavik, is home to delightful food, rich culture and a vibrant nightlife. The airline is even offering a huge discount in airfares for those who make a stopover in Reykjavik and then continue on to one of many European destinations such as Paris, London and Berlin.

Like all budget airlines, however, WOW Air does have numerous “hidden” fees. Your check-in luggage, for example, is charged each way at $48.99 per bag, and if you want cancellation protection that will be an additional $19 per person. These extra fees do add up, but at the end of the day you are still getting a fantastic price to visit some unforgettable destinations.
