The provocatively titled Wreck This Journal invites readers to “destroy” its pages and make their own story. Smith’s smartly written story prompts readers to poke holes through pages, attach photos, paint pages and creatively transform the book. These acts of book “destruction” encourage readers to color outside the lines and think beyond the pages — suggesting creativity isn’t always a tidy process. Luckily, in this case, the journal contains the mess.

The short interactive journal is available on Smith’s website for $7.70. Once you’ve thoroughly wrecked that journal, explore some of Smith’s other interactive books, including The Pocket Scavenger, Finish This Book and Mess.
