You Should Visit Port Gamble, Washington, This Season: Here’s Why

Outdoor Pursuits

Port Gamble is home to Olympic Outdoor Center, a hub offering guided tours, rentals and classes across all things paddle sports. Whether you prefer kayaking or paddleboarding, you’ll find an array of fun tours here, including a bioluminescence tour and wildlife tour. Port Gamble is also rich in opportunities for mountain biking and hiking along tree-lined trails.

 

Local Shops Galore

If you prefer a day shopping, Port Gamble boasts a wide variety of shops. Head to Dahlia Cove for candles and teas, while Tango Zulu offers handcrafted houseware and apparel. And for everything from souvenirs to home décor to food to specialty goods, Port Gamble General Store is the place to go. In fact, this store is home to the second-largest privately held seashell collection in the country.

Tasty Restaurants

For a small town, Port Gamble has some promising eating options. At Butcher & Baker Provisions, a locally sourced farmhouse restaurant, you’ll find an array of salads, sandwiches, fresh-baked items, breakfast dishes, hearty entrées and even espresso drinks. For local and organic beers and wines, head to House 11 Taproom & Bottle Shop. Start the morning with a craft coffee or cold drink at Steel Bridge Coffee.
