Tips / Travel

If you’re a fan of extended travel, you’re probably familiar with the feeling of homesickness that sets in after a few weeks on the road. The problem is, many people turn tail and run at the first sign of loneliness rather than push through. Don’t let homesickness end your adventure early, but there are some signs it might be time to pack it up and head home.

You’re Actually Sick

While a small case of the flu can be handled overseas, anything serious shouldn’t be taken care of back home. Medical care in many countries isn’t what it should be, and your insurance might not cover it. If you’re seriously ill, it’s time to head home.

The Excitement is Gone

If you find yourself pushing on to your next destination out of obligation rather than wonder, you might be ready to throw in the towel. Traveling is only worthwhile when you want to do it, not when you feel like you have to impress someone else or yourself.

You’re Going Broke

When you find yourself short on cash, don’t sit around waiting for a miracle to come and drop dollars in your lap. Many places require plenty of money to explore, no matter how many bloggers will try and tell you otherwise. If you find you’ve blown your budget early, consider taking a break until you can replenish your coffers.
