Top 5 / North America

St Martin/St Maarten isn’t lacking in awe-inspiring things to see and do. If you’re the outdoorsy type you’ll definitely find plenty of activities to satiate the adventurer in you. If you’re not sure where to get started, trying check these things out.
Octopus Diving

While most people dive underwater to explore coral reefs and maybe see a shark or two, folks in St Martin are more likely to dive for octopus. The shores of the surrounding islands are teeming with the tentacled creatures.

Go Ziplining

The lush forests and high peaks of St. Martin make for some excellent ziplining escapades. While in town, be sure to check out Loterie Farm and the Fly Zone Xtreme for a trip through the trees.

Hike to Pic Paradis

St Maarten’s highest point, Pic Paradis, provides some pretty spectacular views of the entire island. Getting there isn’t too difficult and along the way you’re likely to spot plenty of wild monkeys swinging through the coconut palms.

Kayak Pinel Island

Though St Martin can be a crowded place, that doesn’t mean you can’t get a little peace and quiet. Kayak over to Pinel Island where the tourists tend to be sparse. It’s a fun way to explore the islands if your arms can handle it.

Hop on a Jet Ski

Orient Bay is the best place to go for watersports. The area is a favorite among jet skiers and windsurfers, or you can give parasailing a try. The views here are beautiful, though it can get a little packed during the busiest times of the year.
