British singer Adele has become one of the biggest acts in the world, and now the star is taking her incredible singing voice across the United States.
It has been said British artists struggle to replicate success at home across the pond, but there would appear to be no such worries for Adele. Tickets for her 56 dates in the United States were so hard to buy website Ticketmaster was forced to explain the situation to disappointed fans.
According to the vendor, there was an “all-time high” of customers trying to get tickets to see Adele, and the entire tour was sold out in less than an hour. Fresh off the back of a truly inspiring performance at Glastonbury, those who didn’t manage to snag a ticket will be even more disappointed than before.
The demand has been driven by the singer’s incredible popularity and the fact the tour is her first in four years. Adele and her team were adamant they would do their best to stop tickets being bought by resellers, but it seems some are being sold online.
While the tickets officially cost between $40–150, resellers have been charging as much as $6,000. Unfortunately for true Adele fans, that looks to be the only way to get to see the British singer short of convincing her to put you on the guest list.
The tour started in St. Paul, Minn., July 5.
