Under $100 / Europe

Benidorm is one of Spain’s most happening beach destinations, which means there’s more fun in the sun than you’ll be able to conquer in one trip. If you’re only in town for a day, and on a budget, here are the best spots to see.

Start your morning with a light breakfast at the Jarrow Lad. It’s actually a British restaurant in the heart of Spain, but the portions are huge and the prices low. A meal here will run you around $15.

Since Benidorm is known for its beaches, make your way over to Levante and soak up some sun before it becomes so hot you’ll crisp. Exploring the beach is free and should soak up a couple of hours for you.

From there it’s an easy walk to the Balcon del Mediterraneo. This landmark provides excellent views of the surrounding beaches as well as the blue-tiled dome of St. Jaime Church. Again, visiting this spot is free.

If you’re feeling froggy, you might want to attempt a climb to La Cruz de Benidorm, a monument of a cross located on the west side of Benidorm. It’s a 45-minute hike, but it provides the best views of the city’s skyline.

When you’re ready for lunch, head to the aptly named Refuel Café Bar. It’s located right next to the ocean and offers scrumptious sandwiches around lunchtime for only $15.

Benidorm is known for its amusement parks almost as much as its beaches, the most popular being Mundomar. It’s an aquatic-themed park with dolphins and fish, but also some land-dwelling creatures too. Entrance is $35 per adult.

Finally, take a quick stroll around Old Town to visit with some locals in the heart of Benidorm. You’ll find plenty of quirky shops and bars to relax in as well as some pretty cheap eats. Save roughly $30 for this trip and grab yourself a bite for dinner here.
