Grab breakfast at the cutesy Boutique de l’Artist. Not only will you find a staff kind enough to explain the menu in English, but you’ll also enjoy a nice brunch menu and lovely pastries. Even with a larger breakfast, you’ll still spend less than $15.
Visit a converted Cold War bunker, now a history and art museum. The large underground space, christened Bunk’Art, features several floors of exhibits in what was once meant to protect Albania’s politicians in case of nuclear fallout in the 1970s. You can visit for around $5, with pricing varying dependent upon whether or not you’d like an audio tour.

If you feel a need to get out and about in the fresh air after your trip underground, take a visit to Mt. Dajti National Park. The Dajti Ekspres will take you to the top of the mountain over a 15-minute scenic trip, where you can then explore the surrounding area.
For a traditional Albanian lunch, head to Era. The local favorite offers baked veal and eggs, stuffed eggplant and more. It’s popular and sometimes you do have to wait for a seat, so get there when the doors open at 11 a.m. You’ll leave with a full stomach and a full wallet, as lunch prices are generally less than $10.

Climb to the Martyrs’ Cemetery for sweeping views of the city. The spot is where 900 partisans died during World War II. It’s also the home of the Mother Albania statue, erected in 1972. You can take a bus to get there.
For 360-degree views of the city at night, though, go to SKY CLUB atop Sky Tower. It’s pretty popular and offers a menu with global and local cuisine at a decent price.
