Under $100 / North America

Williamsburg is known for its hip restaurants and stylish residents. It’s the epicenter of hipster culture in New York, and — whether you’re sporting a waxed mustache or not — it’s a great place to hang out for a day.

There are plenty of pricey restaurants in Williamsburg, but stick to Bagelsmith, the local chain with an outpost in the neighborhood. Breakfast here will consist of a filling bagel and your choice of cream cheese, plus a coffee, and you won’t be set back more than $10.

Consider a stroll through the neighborhood after breakfast, including scenic McCarran Park and East River State Park. If you’re here on a weekend, McCarran has a farmers market on Saturdays.

Lunch at any number of sidewalk cafes; just pick one that looks interesting. Even coffee shops serve excellent sandwiches or late breakfast items, and you’ll probably spend about $15. Then, head to the Brooklyn Brewery, where you can grab a ticket for a free tour and stay for a pint or two (around $10).

Head for live music and futuristic bowling at Brooklyn Bowl, or enjoy a movie and a meal at Nitehawk Cinema. The rest of your budget will serve you well at either — or both, should you choose.
