This Arizona-based itinerary is a road trip, hiking adventure and bachelorette all rolled into one. So find a long weekend, pull on your boots and fly into Phoenix to get the party started.
Friday
Drinks and going out at the Beverly, a swanky cocktail joint with weekend DJs and excellent food. From there, it’s easy to bar hop around Old Town Scottsdale if you’re looking for more excitement.
Saturday
After waking up at your leisure, lunch at the Herb Box local restaurant that’s expanded to three locations and focuses on fresh, healthy food.
Once Friday night has been detoxed from your system, pick up rental cars and drive to Sedona. Make a detour through the former mining town of Jerome, once the “wickedest town in the West” and now full of galleries and coffee shops, or Prescott, for its country and western feel. Or if you can’t wait for it, go straight to Red Rock State Park in Sedona.
Eat a proper Southwestern dinner — we recommend the Saltrock Southwest Kitchen in Sedona.
Sunday
After early morning yoga, drive from Sedona to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, enjoying the scenery along the way.
Spend the morning hiking along the South Rim. For less experienced hikers, you can always take the shuttle back along the trail. For more experienced hikers, consider trying another trail, like the Bright Angel. If it’s not a group that wants to hike — or you want to cover more ground — try the Pink Jeep Tour of the Grand Canyon. Whatever you decide to do, make sure to stick around until sunset!
After sunset, head back to Sedona for a late dinner — Cucina Rustica has delicious Italian food fit for a post-hiking appetite.
Monday
After a morning hike around Sedona (take a trip to see the Vortexes!), drive back to Phoenix and hop on flights back home.
