Cities around the country vie each year to win the spot as the Super Bowl destination. The city picked receives nationwide attention, a great economic boost and thousands upon thousands of visitors. Here are some of the best host cities from Super Bowl history.
Los Angeles
Los Angeles and the surrounding area have been home to the Super Bowl a total of seven times. The weather is great and there are plenty of things to keep the thousands of extra guests occupied, unlike other host cities that can’t quite handle the influx of pedestrians, traffic and travelers needing to be fed and lodged. Looking at you, Jacksonville.
New Orleans
New Orleans is great on its own, which is maybe why it’s hosted the Super Bowl 10 times so far. Add in the fact that Mardi Gras also falls around the same time as Super Bowl, and you’ve got a great time! Imagine planning your perfect getaway, both to Mardi Gras and the Super Bowl, all in the same week!.
Dallas
While, admittedly, the last Super Bowl held in Dallas had its problems, the city could definitely make a better impression if it had another chance. AT&T Stadium is practically perfect for a Super Bowl — ample seating, good location, not to mention the largest projection screen in the entire NFL.
Miami
During cold and snowy February, where else would you want to be other than the beach? Miami consistently boasts great weather during February, and has a great nightlife scene to keep the crowds entertained. The added luxury and posh vibe from South Beach can really add to the Super Bowl experience for those traveling from all over the country and the world.
New York
Cold weather aside, New York has quite a lot to offer football fans. No stranger to large crowds and big events, the city can handle it with ease, and there’s plenty to do, regardless of the weather. In other destinations (such as Atlanta), cold temperatures have the potential to completely mess up the entire event. In New York, they’re prepared for it.
