The Hottest Wedding Date

This year, there’s one wedding date brides- and grooms-to-be are fighting over — 12/13/14, the last number-sequential date until Jan. 2, 2103. Eighty-nine years is a long time for people to wait, and, according to a David’s Bridal poll, more than 20,000 U.S. couples plan to marry on that date — which happens to also be a Saturday — this year; last year on Dec. 13, only 7,200 couples wed.

Las Vegas chapels have been fully booked for the date for months, where many superstitious couples are planning to tie the knot at exactly 12:13 and 14 seconds. Venues and vendors are turning people away, leaving couples desperate for that sequential wedding date scrambling.

The rush will be profitable for the travel industry, with hotels offering exclusive packages for 12/13/14, many costing more than $100,000. One lucky couple booked exclusive use of Little Palm Island Resort & Spa, located on a private island in the Florida Keys, for $195,000.

Viceroy Anguilla’s Sequential Love & Legacy: 12-13-14 package include a 100-person wedding for $500 per person, a suite for the bride and groom and a bottle of Veuve Clicquot. More affordable packages ranged from the MGM Grand’s Numerology offer, for $1,400, and the Bellagio’s 12-13-14 package for $5,000.
