Tips / Travel

Navigating through a busy and crowded airport with long lines around every corner is no traveler´s idea of an enjoyable vacation. The next time you find yourself weaving in and out of fellow travelers when trying to make your flight, consider the following tips to move through the airport and reach your gate with ease.

Before leaving the house … Not only is it good to plan, but it is also beneficial to pre-plan. Consider what you will be most comfortable wearing as you rush from the security gate to your boarding gate and as you squeeze into the airplane seat. If a layover is in your future, research the connecting airport to see if any major terminal transportation will be required.

When dealing with luggage … Toss an empty, reusable water in your carry-on bag to fill up with water on the opposite side of the security gate. Stock smaller liquids in their see-through zipped bags and keep and make the in-flight necessities (e.g., headphones, lotion, hand sanitizer, magazines) easy to access without having to open the overhead bins.

In the security line … Most people are right-handed, and most people feel more comfortable going in the right direction. Therefore, going left in the security line may result in a shorter waiting time. Start emptying your pockets and removing belts before approaching the empty bins to save time for everyone.
